Plain-language glossary

What the numbers mean.

Product ranking measures recent participation. It does not establish product quality, revenue, or a promise of feedback.

Working beta

A usable product or interactive build accessible through a public HTTPS demo. A concept or marketing page alone does not qualify. Editorial examples and listings without usable demo links do not enter the working-beta leaderboard.

Feedback Credits

Internal testing capacity, separate from XP. Verified accounts receive 2 starter credits once. Completing a qualifying test earns 1 credit; funding one tester slot costs 1 credit. Creator ratings do not remove earned credits. Unfilled slots can be refunded when no tests are in progress.

Match relevance

Rules compare testing domains (30), creator-preferred roles (25), target-user overlap (20), feedback skills (15), and previous useful-rating rate (up to 10). Preferred experience can adjust the result. Required expertise controls eligibility. Labels and explanations communicate relevance; a match is not a guarantee of feedback quality.

Perspective and impact

Perspective describes your relationship to a product: target user, domain-aware, product feedback, technical review, or general early adopter. Usefulness is the creator’s quality rating, separate from relevance. Impact records whether the creator shipped an improvement from your feedback.

Demo launch

A signed-in user opened a demo through Trade on Ideas. Unique users are counted per product. This is not proof that the user completed a task or that the product worked for them. Anonymous visitors can try demos without contributing to these counts.

Structured critique

Qualifying mission feedback describes what you did, where you hesitated, what you expected, and what you would change. It also records willingness to return and the tester’s perspective. Completion confirmation, distinct specific answers, and duplicate checks are required. Each user can earn rewards once per product. Earlier critiques remain in history.

Feedback score

The single product ranking score runs from 0 to 100. Over the preceding seven days, it combines 40% unique demo launches toward 20, 40% visible critiques toward 10, and 20% helpful votes on those critiques toward 20. Each component stops increasing at its target. A zero is an honest lack of recent recorded activity. Pledges, money, and waitlists do not contribute.

XP, levels, and badges

XP represents contribution and reputation: 10 for a qualifying mission critique, 10 for a useful creator rating or 4 for partly useful, and 25 when feedback leads to a shipped improvement. Opening demos, comments, and raw clicks earn no new XP. Previously earned XP remains in account history. Specialty status requires three useful mission critiques in a category.

Earlier waitlists and pledges

Earlier versions supported seven-day waitlists and non-payment pledges. Existing records remain manageable from account history. They are not the current launch offer, do not collect money, and do not influence the feedback score. See the Pledge Policy for existing records.
